I love vintage sheets right now. They are so fun to create with....! I love their colors and their colors and their cotton and their designs.... And then I found this vintage lamp. I HAD to add a homemade sheet lampshade to it to make it perfect for my sewing room. You wanna make your own lampshade using strips of fabric? Alrigthy then. Just follow along. It is super easy. You will need an old lampshades with spokes and a lamp. (Do you love this vintage lamp I found? The colors are so yummy! The brown base is actually made of turned wood. I was thinking about painting it white, but then I can't decide... What do you think?) You will need a collection of fabric (such as these yummy vintage sheets...!) Rip and tare the fabric off the lampshade and scrub it clean. Wrap a 1 inch strip of fabric around the bottom and top circles of the lampshade. Glue into place (I used hot glue) Cut your fabric into 1.5 inch strips. Tie the end of a strip with a simple single knot to one of the bars at the bottom of the shade. Pull the strip over to the next bar and tie a knot. Repeat with the next bar and so on. When you get to the end of your strip trim fabric with scissors. Start the next strip on the same bar as the last knot was tied. Keep going around. And keep adding new strips. And add more strips. And add more strips. Until it's all done! I really have a passion for vintage sheets right now! They are so exciting to play with! Here is the finished product. Do you like it?
