I try to make Jesus the focus of Christmas. And I had the urge to play with my mixed media stuff. So I got out my vintage prints, some glue, some paint. Scissors, brushes, the works. While listening to Christmas music, and singing loudly along (in the privacy of my sewing room, I might add), these two pictures came to be. These pictures make me smile. I love the Chrismtas season. I love the lights, the music., the traditions (of thinking of others, and not ourselves). I love the Christ-centered focus. I am grateful that we have one season every year where we dedicate ourselves to being more Christlike. Being more like Jesus who lived every day in order to serve the people around Him. He dedicated his life to us. In the service of us He lived and died. Christmas is a good time to remind ourselves to be more like Him. We should be like Him year-round, but I believe that Christmas is a great reminder. I hope all of you have a fabulous Christmas.
May the spirit of the Christchild bring you peace and love now and throughout the new year.

Yes, the truth has been out for a while now. The truth is that I have a new passion: Vintage Sheets. I love the vintage prints. I love the flower power. I love the bright colors. I love the era they represent. I love vintage sheets. So I have been busy sewing with my vintage sheets. I started out with cutting 5 inch squares and making a random-patterned vintage sheet quilt. I love the way it turned out It is shown in the picture above, but more (better) pictures are to come. This is what I came up with after I finished the quilt: vintage puppies. Well, the puppies are new, but they have that vintage looking shape, and the sheets (fabric) is vintage. I love the vintage prints and the shapes of the puppies brings out their vintage personailties so well! I can't get enough of these puppies and ended up witha whole litter of them in my house. So if you are looking for me I might just be in my sewing room, cutting out the pattern. Or sitting on the couch stuffing them with fiber-fill. Which reminds me: I need to go lickety split back to the store to get some more fiber-fill. I go throught that stuff fast. Enjoy my puppies. I have a feeelign we will be getting a whole new litter here again pretty quickly...
