So yesterday I played in my "Sewing Room" for a couple of hours to make some cards. My daughter's birthday (no.1) is coming up and she deserves a home-made card, don't you think?
I love using the stitching. and the gesso background gives it such a fabulous workable texture, both in color and workabilitiy.
Some of my cards have English, and some have Dutch words on them.
Four birthday cards, and three everyday occasions (I always seem to need those!)
This was my daughter's favorite (no. 3) of the collection.
I believe she liked the way the curve of the stamp emphasized the word "Love".
And this is my favorite card today. It will go off in the mail pretty quick soon to Maine where she is serving a mission at the moment for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (aka Mormons). And a package with goodies included of course. It is hard to be apart on special occasions. I hope she feels loved by this card and the box of things we have prepared for her.... We love her and we miss her, but we are glad she is serving the Lord.
Well, it was a fabulous Sunday afternoon activity for me to make these cards.
I feel completely renewed and energized. I love creating things, don't you?
