It has been beautiful weather around here. School is almost out for the kids, and that means I will have more time with the kids, and less time with myself. Will I be able to keep making mixed media pieces?
I sure hope so. I have a ton of other things to do on my list, however.
Summer projects. You know how it is....
I had made a sketch of this design some years ago. I came upon it again a few days ago as I was "organizing" my craft room. I was glad to see it again and got to work. It was fun to make. It took me a few days, as I waited for things to dry and for inspiration to hit....
I used lots of torn up paper of all sorts, monopoly money (on of my favorites), a library check-out card (another one of my favorites), paint, scrabble pieces, etc.
These bright and cheerful houses represent my three fun kids.
What do you think?
I have three kids (three houses, three kids - makes sense, right?)
Our oldest is quite a bit older than the other two, so she is already off doing her own thing. Plus she is one of those people who is what-we-call "non-conforming." In a good way. She is her own person. I love it. Who wants to be like everyone else? So the house on the side represents her.
the other two are closer together and on good days they are also good friends.
It was fun to make this piece. I have really good kids. I am really lucky.
